Dear Brother and Sister Zaugg,

I would like to thank you for the sacrifice that you are making in your lives to support your son’s service here in the mission.  He has truly dedicated himself to the work and has helped out many other missionaries by being a great example.  He has played an important role in helping the people of Paraguay come to know their Savior Jesus Christ.

In order to make missionary work possible, there is a need for missionaries to be called to serve in the office.  The work that is done by the office staff is of great importance and requires one who is humble, honest, dedicated and trustworthy.  Our mission could not function without the help and service given by these great missionaries.  Because of your son’s great qualities and his unselfish service, I would like to inform you that he has been called to serve in the office as the Financial Secretary.

We appreciate your son serving in the mission and we love him.  We will continue to take care of him like our own.

   Warmest regards,

President Garn H. McMullin

Change$$$$$

Well, this week was changes. Woah, why am I writing on Saturday? I got changes this week, and I am now in the office, I got moved to be the Finance elder of the mission! haha It has definitely been a strange week, filled with long nights and trying not to lose money but I am super excited for the new challenge! I get to work with President a lot, he is such a cool man and I am so pumped really haha. Plus, I get to learn to drive stick bc we have a car for the office elders! Our Pday is on Saturday! So, today we went to the zoo (which is closed on Mondays!) It is super super cool really. We are in the office from 930am until 6pm monday-friday, and yesterday we went and taught one of the few investigators we have, but Cido (his name)....he is so super awesome! He is going to be baptized in May. He is an ex doctor, now and architect, has a super nice house and loves the church. Honestly, I am so blessed to have come into the office. I know it is going to help me so much for my life after my mission. Funny how Heavenly Father works, He knows I want to study finances and now Im in the mission, learning how to do real finances haha. He really does know us inside and out, knows what is best for us, what we need to succeed, and how to help us. We just have to follow with a smile and work everyday to progress into the person he wants us to be!
 Love you all!

"I have to pee!"...Semana 42 2283.78 miles walked in Paraguay

Another awesome week here in San Lorenzo! Hopefully Im here next week, we have changes tomorrow! Well, this weekend wrapped up a great change. We found a less active family at the very beginning or end of last change, and we helped them reactivate and their 2 daughters got baptized, Maricela and Cecilia! They are such a cool family. Thanks to Araceli, the 14 year old sister, she helped her siblings and her mom reactivate! She is super awesome, and her Mom his new super excited again about the church!

Funny story. When Maricela and I entered the baptismal font, it was super cold. And immediately, she crossed her legs and said, "I have to go pee! I have to go pee!" "What? Really? Right now?" as i was laughing. She starts to leave the font and then gets back in and says, " Lets do this, Ill just go after!" And then, as she was about to go under the water, she refused (she told us she was a little scared of the water). I was gently pushing her body into the water and she was pushing back with all her strength! So what do you do in a situation like this? Push her harder until she was finally underwater, with my shoulders under water too. Theres salvation and a life at stake. So, she got baptized. She kind of freaked out under water, just like Celia, and all the people watching started laughing, but she got baptized and was super happy! And we even had time to take one pic after before she had to go pee. haha

Oh, so we teach English class at the church on Thursdays! So like its awesome. We had over 30 people this week learning English! It was so cool! A bunch of the parents came up to us and thanked us for helping them and their child learn english haha It was super fun.

Well, thats about it for the weekend. Thanks everyone for the emails, and support and pics and everything! Love you all!

Good vs Evil......2204.78 Miles walked in Paraguay

Hey friends and fam! How are we all doing this week? it was a super great week this week because Celia Mereles finally got baptized! Wow what a story.

So thursday morning, we went to the church to clean the baptismal font. Only the sacrament room has air so we turned on the air to wait in there while the font was draining the water that was already in there. After about 30 min, my comp says, "Hey, do you smell that?" Something was burning. So we turned off the air bc Im pretty sure we would have caught the church on fire if we left it on. Anyways, we had no more problems until we got back to the church at 5 30. Only half of the power in the building worked. None of the air(there are 2 air things in the sacrament and neither worked). The lights, were almost all off. Well dang, thats dumb but the baptism will go on. Then at 6, when the baptism was supposed to start, the bishop and 1st counselor still had not showed up, and were not answering. Finally, at 6 15 they called back and let us know they were still working and couldn't make it....well shoot. haha Then at 6 30, the stake president showed up(we were told by our mission president he had to be at the baptism and if he wasn't, we had to call him...he must be in trouble hahaha) So Yes! we are going to have the baptism we said. Then all the power shut off. I just started laughing, about 15 min before I was super stressed haha. Then I said, "Well, Satan can cut off the power but he cant take out the water from the baptism font that is already there!"  The lights turn back on so we started the baptism reunion. And she was baptized! The water was so so so high so when she got in, standing, it was nearly to her neck and she was so scared. She kept saying she couldn't step in. I said "well, you are going to be all the way under anyways, so it doesn't matter if it covers you standing haha" She got in, explained the process and proceeded with the baptism. When she was under water, she had a panic attack, took a breath and reached for the air. Luckily, she was all the way under and it was successful. hahahaha Then the lights shut off again. What an experience. They came back on about 10 min later, we changed, and...... I couldn't find my socks. We searched the entire church and never found them. There were a bunch of teenagers at the church playing soccer and there for english class, so we basically think someone stole them. But hey, Id rather know someone stole them than to think they just vanished because that would bug me for a long long time haha.
Anyways, it was such a great baptism, and super super funny, but it shows again, Christ always wins against Satan's dirty tricks.
